hi.

i have a question. I have tried D50 in the shop today, for about 15 minutes. Did it with my own card. When i watched images on my pc, i noticed that none of the programs (ExifReader, SCDSee, windows' own properties and others) show ISO raitings for the image.

what's wrong with exif data???:?:

no, guys, you didn't undrestand me. I'm not SO novice to all this thing. I know where to search all it. I'm using ACDSee.
I mean, there is no ISO information in file EXIF data. I tried WINDOWS's own stuff, ACDSee, many otheres. They just DON'T show me that iso... what is wrong??

I just read this off of some other site about the iso on some of the nikon cameras (Some Nikon and Canon cameras use proprietary format for this setting (iso). In files from those cameras, the value may be missing if they were processed by a software that only preserves standard tags) Not sure whar they mean by processed. Just looking at the data for the file on the desktop doesnt show you that info?

Hers something that might fix it,

i wanted to also add that if you alter your images in photoshop, as previously stated, the exif information gets wiped out. this program, ISOfix, will help and can be downloaded here:

http://www.vandrasik.com/software/IsoFix12.zip
(requires .NET framework 1.1 to run)

quoted from the author (obtained from dpreview.com):

Quote: OK, Here is my fix for the EXIF ISO "bug". Nikon hides the ISO setting in the EXIF "MakerNotes" field. This program pulls it out of there and copies it to the standard EXIF ISO field. This makes the ISO setting viewable in PhotoShop and other programs that can't properly decode the Nikon MakerNote field. Works on images shot in JPG and images shot in NEF and converted with Nikon Capture or Nikon Browser / Nikon View.

To install, unzip all files to a temporary folder and run setup.exe. To use, right-click on a folder name and select "ISO Fix". The application will attempt to correct all JPGs in the folder.
