I have the lens kit for my D70 and I don't want to take two lenses around the parks.. To much weight.. anyway I was looking for a good in between lens. I am looking at the
Sigma 28-105 mm F3.8-5.6 UC-III and the
Sigma 28-135mm F3.8-5.6 IF Macro

So are either of lenses any good? Is there another one I should be looking at?

Photo Zone lens survey tells that both lenses are terrible,
Sigma 28-135mm F3.8-5.6 IF Macro is poor performer and Sigma 28-105 mm F3.8-5.6 UC-II is very poor performer.
For the reference kit lens Nikkor AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 G ED-IF DX gets average result.

Maybe the Nikkor AF-S 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR is good for you, it's not as good as the kit lens but better than Sigmas.
If you are not in hurry the upcoming AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED may be the best choice.

The 24/120 Nikon "VR" lens is a very good lens. I use mine on my D100 for 98% of everything I do. I shoot weddings, Pets, Portraitsand a scenic I did in Iceland just won an award and sold at a show It was entered in. I'm sure you will be more then pleased with this lens as it is perfect for all around use.
