Just got my camera the other day. What settings do you all use for Image Quality and Image Size? I'm thinking Normal/M or Fine/S. Is there a noticable difference between the Normal and Fine settings for comparable size? Example is there a noticalbe difference between the Normal/s and the Fine/s?

Thanks

I use large/fine. I cannot see any point in using anything other than large (i.e. full sensor resolution). The benefits of using fine come when you start doing post-processing. With medium compression you can start to get problems in even toned skys when you play with curves or contrast.

I always use the highest resolution possible, it just doesnt make sense buying a camera with a good resolution and only everahooting small pictures. And you never know when you might want to get a photo youve taken prined and with the high resolution the print will turn out very nicely.

Thanks for your replies. Do you all store your pics on your computer hard drive or do you transfer them to CD'sor other media to save space?

I back up to DVDs. The only draw back is trying to list whats on the disc so in 6months you can find the shot your looking for. To many pics to make index prints for.

Thanks. I've noticed if I right click on a photo, I can add info to the file. Is there a software program that will search this info? So I can search for example, "grandson" and it will pull up all photo's with this in the Title, Subject, Keywords, etc.?
