Having read much about noise and the D70 I was worried about having to use any ISO above 400. But the race is at night and I needed the shutter speed to keep my hand held Nikon 300 4-5.6 under control as well as the cars. I was very pleased with the results even at 1600. I used "A"preture priority and set it for 5.6 or 8 if I could get shuter sppeds abouve 250. The noise at 1600 is not to bad if you keep the shutter speed up above that. The first picture is at 1600 and the noise is noticeable but does not spoil the shot. The second was at iso 640 and is very useable, and very RED.
