Default D100/SB-80DX high speed sync

I just bought the Nikon D100 and the SB-80DX speedlight. But i can't the the high speed sync to work (shutter speed fast than 1/160). The manual says "choose M with the mode-button. Then click - or + until you see the 'FP'". But it doesn't work for me. No matter how hard I try the FP never shows.

Is it impossible to use the high speed sync with the D100?

For D100 is only up to 180 sync limit. Only Nikon D1x or D1h can take up to 500 sync.

That is why D100 price cheap than expensive d1h/d1x.

I had both d100 and d1h with sb-80dx.

There may nothing do high speed flash than 180 for d100.

Default You are stuck with 1/180, sort of..

If you need a faster shutter speed with flash, there is nothing you can do about it. If you need to reduce shutter speed and maintain aperture and get under the 1/180 shutter speed, get a neutral density filter.
