Hi Everyone! I bought my first DSLR Nikon D50 a couple of days ago. As it is a reconditioned one, i've been trying to find out the previous shutter count on the camera but without any success.

I've read some of the similar topics in the forum but none specifies the clear steps to find out this. I've also downloaded the Opanda Exifviewer but didn't find actuation number within the exif info (only things like exifoffset).

I'm a bit lost here and really would like to know that number for a piece of mind. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me! thanks!

It should be in the exif. Make sure you are looking at an un-edited image as editors may strip some of the exif data. Check out my post in this thread:

thanks a lot for your help, rey! I just installed the Opanda exif 2 and found out that my camera had a shutter release of 176, which is not bad. My heart is finally back in my chest!

I used the wrong software before which doesn't show the actuation number. Thanks again rey!

checkout the EXIF of a a foto I took last year. Normally, you can't get the exif from the files which have been posted on the websites. eg. Pictures from ebay page. The fotos you took will give all the details.
