Just bought a D50...got dead pixels with a streak of vertical line...returned it..got a replacement....sigh..found another one..much less obvious..and more on the perimeter...shot under ISO 1600 tho...=(...

Live with it? or send it in for repairs/replacement..the shop passed me their last D50 apparently..sigh..

well you can try getting a refund or store credit (if they got multiple stores) and go to another store to see if they have any

Dead or hot pixels are fairly common. This can be magnified when shooting at high ISO's. You don't mention if the pixel shows up at lower ISO's or if the pic was taken using a long shutter speed. Long shutter speeds often produce hot pixels when the in camera noise reduction is not active. Hot pixels are also easily cleaned up in post.

Thanks for the replyr rj.....
I know they're easily cleaned up in post...just the thought of spending a grand and getting hot pixels...was rather disturbing..
Anyhow...I think that was more reassuring...I shall turn on the NR and work my way around it..thanks!
