The biggest favor you can do for yourself is to read the manual while you wait for your battery to charge.

Then take a few snaps and re read the manual.

I got one of these babies about a month ago, and the results from just taking a point and shoot photo of anything are spectacular!

The image quality is simply devine.

But the other guy who posted a message is spot on, read the manual ,shot some frames, and repeat the process.

I didn't and spent twohours trying to work out why the pic's I were taking were crap. The reasonbacame clearafter I read the manual.

I had one setting wrong. Small switch on the front switches from AF to Manual mode, I was using a manual lens, and had the camera in AF mode.

But I promise you, the more you use this camera, the more the image quality of this camera is gonna blow you away.

Its the best £450 I ever spent.

thanks for the good advice... just shot 2 photos... then decided to put down to read the manual... just so i could learn the camera better...

but the few pictures i did take were in raw... and i have photoshop cs2... but cs2 says "could not complete your request because of the wrong type of document"... now im new to this whole raw thing... so could anyone fill me in on why or how i would go about opening these NEF (raw) files in CS2?

thanks

You may need to download and install the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw plug-in. This is found on the Adobe website. Alternatively, you can use Nikon Capture. A trial version (30 day fully functonal) can be found on the CD that came with you camera or downloaded from Nikon website.
