Finally got my Nikkor 18-70 Friday and thought my first stitched Pano (7-images at 18mm) turned out pretty good...

CORRECTION: I now realized that I had my Tamron 70-300mm LD lens on for this pano... see EXIF Below Post

Not bad, Telecorder. I'm just curious, what software did you use to stitch'em up?

Arcsoft Panorama Maker 3 that came with my FZ30.

Sorry about the wide pano... I forgot Steve's doesn't insert wide images in a separate window...

Actually, I used my Manfrotto Monopod and gave a generous overlap while conciously trying to keep the horizon approximately the same level in the OVF... I used Manual exposure to lock in the same Apt/Exp settings across the images and AF on the distant horizon

The Arcsoft program is very forgiving as long as it has some good features to matchup. While it has an aligment tool, I didn't need to use it and the AutoCrop did a good job... EXIF as follows:

Whooaa.. I just realized that I had my Tamron 70-300 LD lens on at 70mm... I guess I'm guilty of posting misleading info... To make amends, I guess I'll have to go out and shoot a true 18mm pano w/the Nikkor. Unfortunately, the smoke from the fires is getting bad today...

The funny thing is that I too had a FZ30 before the D50 but as a jackass I uninstalled all the software I installed previously from the former FZ30.

Anyway, you did a good job, Tele.

Cheers and have fun!
