Hi, I'm looking to buy my first DSLR camera. I was looking at D50's when I came across someone selling a D70 for $525. This is what's included. No lens.

D70 body (3,250 actuations)
plus SanDisk Ultra II 1.0GB CF card
plus Thom Hogan's "Complete Guide to the Nikon D70" ebook.

He claims it's in mint condition. What do you guys think? Good deal? The actuation rating for this camera is 50,000, right? I think I read that somewhere in one of these threads.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Personaly I would rather have a D70 then a D50. If it is in excellent condition it is well worth the $$$$ $525.00) The D70 is a very good camera with features the D50 does not have. I hope it has a manual for you to learn how to use it.

Personally, I think the D50 has more recent and improved technology than the D70. If the guy is selling a D70s (an updated D70), then that would be worth buying.

I have a D70 with the upgraded firmware. The only difference between my D70 and a newer D70S is a SLIGHTLY larger screen and a cable release instead of a wireless remote. Other than that, they are identical.
