Just been onto the Nikon web site, and they have announced the the introduction of the D80 . Wonder how long it will be before we get the announcement for the D80S ?

I am very impressed with the specs of the Nikon comer the D80, but on the same breath I am thinking to myself how is the next Rebel is going to be !?.. Canon will probably will come out with a new replacement for the Rebel XT, taking into advantage the time of release and taking care of the minor (or not) ergonomics and LCD disadvantages and of course some new and improved features that will make this new DSLR a best seller ever.. but time will tell.

Going back to the Nikon D80, I was looking at the new kit lens 18-135mm that comes with it, it sure looks very promising. I used to shoot with my fathers D70s KIT (18-70mm) andI felt the need for some extra focal range for my kind of shooting (that is usually outdoors). I really don't care about the burst mode if its 3 or 5 fps, I just hope that there is an improvement with the Noise at High ISO, never less it looks promising and I will sure wait for the Review to come soon.

Isn't it a bit soon to think about this?? Let's wait until the D80 is available and has a few miles under its belt before we worry about a replacement. The D50 is probably next on the list for a replacement.
