I have D50 with 18-200VR andmostly I can get sharp results. I tried D200 with the same lens and it looked soft to me with same settings.

Is it normal or Did I make something wrong ?

Did you make sure the camera was in single mode? With the VR you also must give the lens a small split second to let the VR function between shots. It's really difficult to give You an answer without knowing your settings. If using a tripod you need to turn the VR off.

My D200 with the VR 18/200 is tach sharp at any range.

Ronnie,

Yes Ronnie, it was in single mode. Maybe I testedD200 but little bit fast andI missed a point.

There was no tripot.Another possibility issomething wrong with that D200.

Anyway, I must try D200 but no hurry and step by step.

Thank you for the reply.

I've read some of the comparitive reviews of the D200. The in-camera sharpening is not as extreme as some cameras, including the D70. As a result, right from the camera the images of the D70 appear sharper. You can get the same (or slightly better) results from the D200 by either (a) bumping the in-camera sharpening up a bit or (b) post-process the images using Photoshop or a similar program.
