Just an observation but a little while back someone posted about what zoom to get for a Disney World vacation and TCav recommended something like a 18- 135mm I think.
Well I had just come back from a vacation cruising the Canary Islands where I visted a Disney like theme park, with Killer Whales, Dolphins etc. So I thought "no you need 200mm" but when I looked back at my photo's much to my amazement I only took 2 x 200mm shots during the whole fortnight, they were of Lizards on a rock, nearly all were taken between 80mm-130mm. Then I looked at my vacation in Cornwall UK, no 200mm shots at all. So it looks like I only use 200mm for around 2 % of my my shots. I wouldnt get rid of it but I dont use it half as much as I thought I did.

G'day DS
Nice set of comments ~ TC should be pleased However it occurs to me that we each have our photographic style and preferences for lenses, and that personal side of things might influence the end results - maybe? Regards, Phil

That sounds like me. Thanks for the validation.
It just seems to me that, when you're at a place like that, there are plenty of things to take photos of that aren't very far away, so a longer focal length would be wasted. You're going through a place designed so you'll see a lot of things, so they put them nearby.

Just thought you may be interested in a couple of the shots I took.
Nothing special but the Gorilla shot was my longest at 150mm 1/200th F5.6 and through the dirtiest plate glass you've ever seen.I could have got in closer I guess but with various obstructions this was it. The Killer Whale shot was 27mm !/500 F10 again I could have zoomed in closer but I would have lost the atmosphere of the audience. There was a guy sitting next to me with a point and shoot and bnecause of the delay I dont think he got any of the whale out of the water, thats if his cussing was anything to go by.:-) What the people in the front didn't realise was that in approx 1 seconds time they were going to be very very wet.
