First off, I'm new the forums and have found a lot of helpful information here. I'm new to the world of photography but would like to make it a more indepth hobby. I am trying to come up with a lens combination that will allow me to do a little bit of everything including indoor/outdoor sports, portraits, close-up, and just everyday. I was wondering if I could get opinions on the following lenses for those purposes.
Nikon 18-200mm VR f/3.5-5.6(for everyday) Nikon 50mm f/1.4D (portrait) Nikon 85mm f/1.8 (indoor sports) Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG (indoor sports, macro) I'm not worried about some of these not AF on the D40. I particularly am interested in the best choice for indoor sports (High school, jr. high VB & BB). Are the Sigma lenses good enough, or is it worth saving up for the Nikkor. I know this is probably asking for a lot of info :-). Thanks in advance for your help. |
