Having read many reviews and considered my budget/quality ratio, I've narrowed the list to 3 lenses:

Sigma APO 100-300mm F/4 HSM

Sigma APO 70-200mm F/2.8 HSM Macro

Nikkor 80-200mm F/2.8 AF-D

The first one is longer, it's sharp, and optically it is a very good lens. A little slower than the other two.

The second one it's fast, it's macro and is considered a good lens too.

The third is branded and therefore slightly more expensive for what it is. Nonetheless, it's a fine lens, it's fast, sharp and optically it is good too.

Could you please comment on my choices and pick one and outline the reasons for your choice?

Thanks!

.

I haveNO experience with the Sigma's & do not own the Nikon, but USA Sigmas have a 1 yr warranty, &a USANikon a 5 yr warranty, & i'd guess, better resale value if you decide to sell.

In general, Idon't have a problem with non-OEM glass, but thereought to be a substantial reason to chose it overOEMglass - like substantial savings (30%+), or something desired but not offered by the OEM (Sigma's 30mm f1.4, for example).
