I got some rain drops on the lense the other day and tried to clean them off with a very soft cotton rag. Well, it didn't do the best and smeared it for the most part? I'm sure this is kinda a "dumb" question, however what is the best way to clean the lens and what should I "NOT" use on it.
Thank you in advance for your time and help. Weedy |

Go for any of the special lens cleaning cloths and/or brush-pad (lens pen) cleaning systems especially designed for lenses. These are designed to get off dirt etc. If there is anything hard on the lens (sand, grit etc) then the soft brush is essential as this will remove that before you go in with the pad or cloth which will do the final clean. Visit any camera shop and they should have a good selection.
