Just a quick (and probably stupid) question.
This is in regard to the N80 - not the digital body.
As the N80 body controls the aperture of the attached lens, what, if any, is the benefit of buying, say, an AF Zoom 70-300D over the 70-300G? Looking at my trusty Nikkor Lens brochure, the two lenses look virtually identical apart from the aperture ring and ONE element (out of 13) of ED glass. Is this enough of a difference to warrant a price difference of nearly $200? ($180 on Adorama) Is there something I'm missing here?
