I am planning to buy a Nikon D-70, I mostly use this for outdoor photography. Which lens do I need to buy to suit my needs. Do I need a separate lens for indoor photography?

Thanks for the reply . My interests are
Trains, Sunrise-Sun set, Mountains, Rivers/Lakes/Ponds, Birds, Heritage Buildings. I dont mind buying more than one lens if required. |

good equipement for general use. The 18-70 kit lens covers the wide angle for landscapes, a 70-300 is good for birds and probably mountains. a 50mm /f1.8 will give you good photos in low light or for portraits. and a macro lense is... well for macro. ![]() I got my D70 in december 04 and besides the kit lense (28-80mm, not the 18-70) I got a Sigma 70-300 /f4.0-5.6 APO Macro Super II which performs good for bird shots and portraits, too! I'll probably get the nikon 50mm /f1.8 next for low light photos. And a wide angle lense some time maybe. As I see the situation, you'll probably need a wide angle most of the time for the landscape and architecture photos. So you'll make a good choice buying the D70 with the 18-70 kit lense. It will also give you some zoom for decent portraits and similar photos. Then I'd recommend to get a zoom lense for the wildlife photos. if the price doesn't matter get a sigma 70-200 /f2.8 HSM EX. A great lens for wildlife and also good in low light. but costs about $900. If price is a matter get the Nikkor 70-300 G or Sigma 70-300 APO... (the one I mentioned above) |
