I have a Tamron 18-250mm lens on order to use on my Canon 20D and XTi. If it is as good as some of the previews, I intend to order it for my Nikon D-50 and D-80.

It looks to be an ideal travel or one lens solution. I will post some photo samples as soon as I receive it.

Perhaps some of you already have it.

I have seen several good reports from KM/Sony and Nikon users. If I had the budget, I would get one, as I had good luck with the 28-300 Tamron with my KM 5D&7D.

Back in the KM 5D days, I also used a Tamron 28-300mm lens and liked it for what it was. The Tamron 18-250mm lens has to be a compromise lens, but it might be a star as a compact travel lens. We will soon see.

The Tamron 18-250mm lens arrived just about 5 minutes ago. Thus far, I have had time to take just one handheld flash shot with my Canon XTI at approximately the 100mm mark on the lens. There will be more photos to come.

Sarah,

From what I hear, the 18-250 is a better lens. Still a compromise with it's slower aperture, but a better compromise.

You are taking good care of your prime subject, he looks just as good as he did a year ago.;)
