:?hi all
was playinglast night trying to take some astro photos , and using the lens on manual focus , when i wound the lens right round to infinity (endstop) the stars were out of focus but when i wound the lens back a fraction they came in to focus , is this the norm with nikon lens . i tried it in the day time today on manual and noticed it as well on long distance items had to go back a fraction to bring them in to focus , any ideas cheers matt |

All lenses do this - It allows for temperature expansion or for the occasional 1.4/2x teleconvserter one would put between the lens and the body...
![]() IR photography focus is slightly off from the visible spectrum too |
