I have just purchased my first DSLR, a Nikon D60 camera along with a Tamron AF70 - 300mm lens. As I want to take pictures of birds, is this a suitable lens or should I change it to something else. Grateful for any advice you can give.

At 300 mm this lens is long enough for a lot of bird photography although you may find it a bit limited and want something to get you closer. At F5.6 it's also a bit slow although you should have plenty of light where you are.
Problem is that getting a longer focal length or a faster lens will work out seriously expensive. Ken |
