Hey, Not sure this is the location for this post: I just purchased the Nikon - D70 Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-70mm AF-S DX f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED Nikkor Lens. I am wondering what a good 70-300 Zoom/macro lens woud be to purchase for those distant tripod shots. I have not heard great things about the Sigma lenses, which is why I went with a professional friend's recommendation of the D70 with 18-70 mm lens kit to start. The Sigma 70-300 APO lens is $219.00 U$ what sort of quality can I expect? I know I am going to run into some far off objects in Europe this time around, I always remember wishing I had brought along a good sturdy tripod and a zoom lens. I have done quite a bit of photography but, would consider myself far from a pro. I am looking for opinions on what zoom macro lens to pick up for use with the Nikon D70. I am hoping to get some professional opinions on this, from people who have used many lenses over many years with plenty of experience, that and what price range I can expect for some good glass to go with the new digital camera. Not too pricey, but not too cheap and lacking in quality. I do hope to take professional photographs with this equipment. peace, haansNII I I I know opinions vary from user to user.ikon - D70 Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-70mm AF-S DX f/3.5-4.5G IF-EDI Nikkor Lens
