need a zoom-tele for a D200 to be used on outside sports, nature scenes, and landscaping.:homey:

If money is not an object, buy the Nikon. If you have a budget (I'm very familiar with budgets) buy the Sigma. Both are excellent lenses, but the Nikon is a bit better. Woody

you can check the sample pics taken by these lenses at pbase.com/cameras/nikon and pbase.com/cameras/sigma by clicking on respective lens icon. You can press <F5> to get more pics on the page you got by clicking on lens icon.
I personally found that pics taken by nikon 80-200 are more sharp and it turns out that this lens has faster autofocus speed thats why you can track fast moving objects like aero planes.
In fact I found that pictures taken by sigma 80-400 and sigma 50-500 are better than the ones taken using sigma 70-200
