Well, I've learnes alot from you fellows. I am truly grateful, and am working on some new projects with the new "know-how." To think I didn't know the D70s's flash could be used as the trigger, or command unit! I guess I fell asleep reading the manual. On the Nikon D2Xs, however, I would need to purchase a command unit:|, or another SB800?

Furthermore the SU-800, like the Canon ST-E2 remote commander, can only control two groups of slaves so you will also be better off with another SB-800 which can control up to 3 groups instead... I also highly recommend a Metz 58AF-1N, IMO this Metz is even more flexible than an SB-800: same GN (power), audio feedfacks, but is a dual-head and in the wireless mode its master head can be independently control giving you one more group effectively (i.e. 4 to only 3 with the SB-800)! ![]() |

To fire a third party flash when using my D300 in commander mode with my SB800 I use a Wein Smart Slave model WP-SSLD ( prong & PC terminal ).
I setlevers 1,3,4 to on (up) and 2 as off (down). Nicholas |
