I would like to extend my appreciation to everyone who has responded to my questions about various lenses for our D90 and D7000.
With your help, we have a small stable of wonderful lenses which are serving us well. For other members who are researching and debating their choice, I can highly recommend each one. Nikon 16-85 x 2 Tokina 11-16 Nikon 70-300 Nikon 50 f1.4 Nikon 105 macro Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Cheers Lyn |

And, a fine collection of DX lensers it is indeed.
I do have a question for you, Lyn; What is the one lens that you wouldn't be without? I find that the 70-200mm f2.8 VR is on my D7000 perhaps 75% of the time. When it does come off, it's to make room for the Tokina 11-16mm. I have an old 18-70 Nikkor, but it generally doesn't see the light of day. If I had a chance, I'd say my next purchase will be a 300mm f4 prime to use with Tc-14 teleconverter

Mmmm, zig that is a difficult one to answer. As I do a lot of different photography, I tend to have the 16-85mm on most of the time because of its versatility. I carry the 50mm in my bag as I like street and food photography. If I am planning a day out in the wide open spaces, the Tokina 11-16mm comes along too.
The close up lens is almost a permanent fixture on the Panny so I can dash out into the garden at short notice. See what I mean, hard choice as I love them all. If money grew on trees, the 70-200mm would be on my list! I hope Santa brings you the 300mm prime ![]() |
