Trying to be brave this morning ;)

On the lake, in one man kayak, with my new 400mm f/2.8: ;)

All handheld with various TC's - A handful when compared to the Bigma...

I love the perspective that you get from a kayak. 'course it doesn't hurt to having the 400mm 2.8. :D

Thanks - That perspective only works from the front...
Pointing a 10lbs lens to the side of the kayak is a real balancing act especially with BIFs ;)

You are braver than I would be with that much equipment, but it looks like it is worth the risk! Very well done!

Went to a camera club meeting last week with the guest speaker being a woman by the name of Godin(her first name escapes me at the moment).Ms. Godin specializes in nature photography including birds.
She also uses Nikon equipment. during the presentation, she mentioned that many of her images are taken while in an old fiberglas kayak. She mounts the Nikon camera equipped with a 500mm lens on a mini tripod directly in front of her.
When asked, she said that she has yet to capsize the kayak or have any other mishap. She's been doing this since 1993.

I'm not that brave.

400 mm f2.8..:speechless-smiley3: With that kind of a lens, I wouldn't be going anywhere near the water let alone taking it out on a kayak:D

Thank you everyone for commenting!

I'm practicing this moment on closed water so I can go out to the bay in Nags Head this summer...

Lot more waves and currents then ;)

I have two inflatable Kayak but I don't think I'll be brave enough to bring my camera and lens with me.

Nice pictures.
