Default What can this lense be used for on a cropped sensor camera

I have recently taken possession of a Nikon 24mm f2.8 AF lens, made in Japan. As the camera that I have has a cropped sensor this would be the 35mm equivalent of 36mm. Was just wondering what kind of scenarios this lens would be useful for. Am still relatively new to the world of DSLR photography and any knowledge I can use would be gratefully appreciated

G'day dot

As a lens very close to the film camera's "35mm w/a" size, it will be a general-purpose wide angle lens. Useful for some landscapes, some building interiors etc

Enjoy it for what it is

It has less distortion and less vignetting than the kit 18-55 VR at 24mm, and it's a lot sharper and is a full stop faster, but it has more chromatic aberration.

Take a look at the photos you've already taken with your kit lens at that focal length, and see where you might have used it if you had it.
