I just order a Nikkor 300 f-4, reading all over that this is a really sharp lens, even with a TC added! I think I want a 1.4 tc to extend the reach of this lens a little. Does anyone know, or have an educated opinion, if the Nikkor 1.4 is measurealbe better than a Kinko 1.4?....implied second part of the question....enough better to justify over 2x the price?

Thanks, in advance, for any comments.

I'm not against third party lenses (I own several) But it seems kind of silly to use a second rate converter on a first rate lens.

The Kenko Pro300 1.4x is as good as the Nikon 1.4E converter and also gives better functionality with VR and AF with some Nikon lenses (ie the 80-400VR) that the Nikon converters don't even allow.
