I am going to be buying a D80 and my local camera shop has a package that includes the Tamron AF18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II LD Aspherical (IF) lens. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on this lense as I am new to DSLRs. I have decided to spend the money on the D80 but not sure about if this or the kit 18-70 Nikon would be better. The Tamron is a bit more money but just wanted some input, seeing as there aren't to many reviews on this lens as I guess its fairly new. I do plan on doing mainly architectural and landscape shooting. Thanks.

Jeremy

The August issue of Shutterbug has a nice review of that lens.

Thanks for the help guys, but I have decided to stick with the Nikon 18-70mm lens as the kit and then also get the 70-300mm VR Nikon lens so that at the longer zoom I will have VR which from the all that I have read here is worth the money. I appreciate all the help I get here on these forums. I am sure once the purchase is made in the next month (once the finances are in place of course) I will be back on here getting more help. Thanks.
