That is the link... I think I saw it as soon as it was posted...LOL!!!
Might not be propagated yet.

Aas far as budget, This auction is BINat $450. and it's for a Nikon 18-70 and a Tamron 70-300... And that is pretty much my budget.

I was looking into the Nikon 18-200 VR but it's out of reach right now.

As far as style, I just sort of putter around with my cameras and take shots at what fancys me... landscape, wildlife, some portraits,etc...

I will also be going on a Caribbien(sp) cruise in a couple of months and will be shooting stuff there.

Thanks,

B

Well the lenses seem to qualify with regards your needs.

Pricewise: I dont really know if this sale is a bargain

in the UK these would be the prices Brand new inc VAT

http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=592&wysiwyg=5

http://www.photosolution.co.uk/tamron-70-300mm-f4-5-6-nikon-p-1246.html

for both new: under £270 inc VAT tax and deliveryto the UK.

You would need US input with regard to second hand lenses prices.

Thanks...

The going rate just for the 18-70 here is $350 or so....

And they're not always available.
So, I think the price for both is fair...

I will wait for some more feedback before I buy though.

Thanks for the help!

Hey newD50,

Nice find!!! Those are my lenses!!! LOL!!!

Anything I can tell you about them, let me know.

These lenses are perfect and produce nice sharp photos.
They haven't really been used since new, I have mostly used my 55-200VR.

I am selling to get what you mentioned earlier, the 18-200VR.
With this sale I will have enought for the VR...

Gary

I don't think that's a great price for those lenses. Reputable vendors like Keh and Adorama have the tamron lens available used for around $100, and the 18-70 can be had new for around $250, used for about $229. The auction price is about $100 higher than these prices, and I'd be less comfortable with the condition. Although I've bought lenses of ebay successfully, you often don't get a better deal, and I think you're more likely to run into problems. Even if you have to spend a few bucks more (or even less as in this case), I think its safer to buy from one of the online vendors like KEH, Adoram, or BH photo.

Ya, it is a small world... it looks like we live fairly close to each other too!
Maybe I can take a look at them before I buy.

As far as $250 for a new 18-70, I don't know where you find that other than grey market lenses and I won't buy imports...

I can get these for $400... I don't think that's a bad price if they turn out as perfect as he says.
I will try tosee if I can go see them and go from there.

Thanks for looking out for a brand new member... I will try to spend more time here and maybe be of some help!...LOL :-)

I don't think buying graymarket is any more problematic over buying used, but I can understand your concern. Adorama does have this lens used in E+ condition starting at $219.99. Keh is not in stock, and I didn't check B&H. I'd still feel safer buying a graded lens from Adorama vs from an ebay auction from a member with a rating of less than 100.
