Oh, I see. You got ahead of yourself in the sig. You'll like that lens. It does real well with a 1.4 TC on it too.
See my mirror / TC comparison post I did.

You're welcome...!

Here's a couple I snapped last week in the morning just after getting home from
work... I just ran out on my porch and quickly took a few quick snap's then ran
back inside to get out of the cold...

It had snowed all night but was almost stopped by morning... In this first shot you
can still see a few light flakes coming down... The gentlman has just pelted the
young lady with a snowball and you can see the pieces of it flying up in the air...

300mm / 1/640 sec / f11 / ISO 400 / 0 EV

http://forums.dpreview.com/galleries..._dsc_0499_rz50

In this second shot the young lady has run off and the gentlman has just thrown
another snowball in her direction... You can see some of the residual snow that
flew off of his hand frozen in the air... You can also see the colorful flag on the
cart frozen in motion even though there is a breeze... You will note also that there
is a small child riding in the cart (feet sticking out)

300mm / 1/640 sec / f11 / ISO 400 / 0 EV

Note: You can view the full size images (Resized 50% from original OOC jpeg) by
clicking on the link below each image and choosing "Original" from the size options
found below the images on the image page(s)...

Both images were at f11 and I think they are resonably sharp (check out the flag
when viewed at full size) considering they were taken quickly as I didn't want to stay
out in the cold too long...

Glad you mention it. Actually I'm interested on teleconverters but read somewhere that mounting TC on non high grade lens will degrade the IQ a lot.

Yep. Your comparison shots is very convincing

Is this the TC you use?
Nikon TC-14E II (1.4x) Teleconverter AF-S

EDIT:
@Wizzard003

Thanks!

Nikon TC-14E II (1.4x) Teleconverter AF-S
NO, for some reason Nikon converters don't work on that particular lens.
But the one I got does and has great reviews and after using it, I'm convinced. This combo does better than the Sigma / Bigma 50-500mm I had. Now I am sure it can't match the Nikkor $3-5K lenses but I can't afford one of those.

Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DG 1.4x AF Teleconverter
Got mine at B&H and they had great reviews on it from buyers:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...RO_300_DG.html

This was one of the many reviews that convinced me to try it:

This is the only teleconverter available for the Nikon D700 that permits the focus and VR to work. The Nikon versions do not. Fortunately this lack of choice did not result in any lack of satisfaction on my part. Bought the Kenko teleconverter for my 80-400 mm VR Nikon lens to improve my chances of getting decent shots at Bosque del Apache. The results have been outstanding. I can finally fill up my viewfinder with clear, sharp images.
Also, I had not anticipated that I would get such great benefit using the 1.4 teleconverter with my 24-120 mm and 14-24 mm lenses. The teleconverter has not been off my camera since I purchased it. Except for occasional close up work it is starting to look like a good device for keeping dust out of my camera body.

Got the lens today and am pretty like it.

Really glad I picked the 70-300 over the 70-200. The extra 100m is so

The Kenko TC 1.4x looks very cool. Can't figure where to use it though, 300mm seems enough for my needs atm

Thanks for helping me on my journey guys.
