Default Best place to buy nikon lens?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a nikon 50 mm f/1.8 lens.

Where would be the best place to buy it?

I am looking for:
1) easy returns if a problem
2) good customer service / support
3) I don't mind spending a few extra bucks more to get 1 & 2

From what I can see no of the major retailors sell this lens.
Amazon and adorama seem to be the only place I know of that sells them.
Are these my only options?
Is adorama a good place to buy?

Thanks!

See ResellerRatings.com.

B & H Foto & Electronics Corp. has it too. So do Beach Camera, Cameta Camera, and Canoga Camera. Even KEH has it, both new and used.

99% of my gear purchases have been from Amazon and Adorama. Both have competitive pricing, free shipping on most items, and a easy 30 day return policy. B&H is the same...they have increased their return window to 30 days as well.

I may be wrong, but I think that, except for books, most of the stuff sold through Amazon actually comes from third party retailers. Any customer service stuff must be handled through Amazon, which can make it more awkward and tedious than if you were dealing with a retailer directly.

Good price or not, I try to avoid Amazon.

i use amazon a lot, for the reasons wingman stated, it does tell you before you buy if its being sold by amazon or a 3rd party, but either way ive never had any probs

The Nikon 50mm 1.8 is a rather straightforward and inexpensive lens. It is readily available on the used market, but since the cost of new one is so low, often times, it's just better to get the new unit as you'll get the warranty with it.

I 'd look at B&H Photo, KEH.com and Adorama for the pricing on both a new lens as well as a used/refurbished lens. Then, I'd compare the best price found on Amazon.com.

I would get the lens from the supplier with the best price at that time.
Ive bought lenses from all of the suppliers I've mentioned. They are all reputable dealers that back up their products should anything go wrong.

Hi!

To answer your questions from the horse's mouth....
1) All units sold by Adorama come with a 30-day returns period
2) I'm always only an email way for after-sales support: [email protected]
3) We always do our best to be competitive, and do our best to price match to equally reputable retailers.
