Default New 18-200 zoom for Nikon D70

I'm planning to buy an 18-200 zoom for my Nikon D70 and I'm looking for recommendations; Nikon, Tamron, etc.
Can anyone provide recommendations?
Thank you for your time.

Multiple lenses of less ambitious zoom ranges will provide better image quality for less money, but if you really want a jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none lens, the Tamron 18-270 is probably the best.

I'd second that.... had a Tamron 18-270 VR atop a 20D- and loved it...

I use a Tamron 18-270 VC on my D90 and think it is the best value for the buck. It is light weight and reasonably compact and serves me well on my travels. VC works well and image quality is excellent .

Thanks for the feedback. I bought my D70 when it first came out and it's working OK but I eventually will move up to possibly a Canon 60D or a Nikon D5100. Based on your input I'll stay with what I have and save my bucks.
Thanks!

If you're going to change brands, then it definitely doesn't make sense to buy another lens for this one.
