How this for Bokeh on the Tamron 18-400 VC?
Pretty much wide open @ 400mm f/6.3

Just love this lens for an all-purpose walk around!
Why would anyone pick the newly released Tamron 100-400 VC over this 18-400 VC?

I'm taking it that you're giving this lens 2 thumbs-up! Any negatives..e.g. size, weight? Are these images post processed? In any event, the end result looks good!

Thanks for the first had report.

I don't see any negative at all... The 18-400 is heavier and larger than the 16-300; However, as I posted earlier I had to take the Sigma 150-600 along for the previous trip because the 16-300 fall short of my birding needs. So in the end one lens, even heavier and larger, is more convenient than two lenses!

The pictures are processed along my workflow to direct-link them to pBase

Thanks for the help with the first hand report. I'll send in an order in the next week or so...waiting for a few Amzaon gift cards to arrive .

IMO you'll love it
Typically this is what an all purpose walk-around lens is supposed to do:

Old temple at night in the ancient city of Hoi An @1/10s handheld with VC...

Great shots, looks like the Tamron is a nice lens.
