When you can buy non OEM D70 batteries for less than $4 off ebay, who cares?

I've had over 250 shots without draining the standard battery on a D70. Does that answer your question? I also took 200 shots for a friends wedding, 2/3rds of which were with the 70/200 for portraits and the rest using the "kit" lens with the SB800 flash and I don't think I used more than half the battery judging by the recharge time needed. In brief, I reckon no difference to any other IFED lens.

Hi,

Thanks to all of you,

I finally bought the 70/200VR with the TC17EII. I'm really happy with it and haven't noticed yet a big difference in the consumption.
