f/8-16 is a bit dark, but comparing to other similarly sized telescopes, I guess it isn't so bad.

Much thanks for the reply.

Yes, the numbers are impressive, but I couldn't find a review, and of course, that kind of power at roughly $300, leaves me a bit sceptical. I say that even though it's completely manual, etc.

I was hoping that someone here had actually used it, or perhaps could direct me to a review.

Now that you mentioned the price, and given its specs, I would doubt you'd get much quality in your images: probably loads of chromatic aberration, and difficulty in manually focusing due to maximum f/8 aperture.

:-) Yes, my thoughts. However the Phonix brand name actually does make some decent lenses (for that matter so does Vivitar)

And you never know...

That's why I wanted to talk to someone who used it or who knew of a good review site.

The manual focus part I can deal with, since I now use a Swarovski. If this was any good, it would have some advantages...
