Hey everyone....I just got a d50 & have been doing some research on a second lense to go with my 18-55.

I'm trying to figure out the price difference between the two lenses....the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G is $60 cheaper than the 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED. Is it simply because of the platic vs metal housing?

Any recomendations between the two would be greatly appreciated.....I'd like to add a nice zoom lense. Thanks!

Hi

the other reason is because the glass used is of a better quality as indicated by the ED designation it has less flare and abberation problems in theory

Since I bought a circ polarizer and a uv filter for my 18-55, I'll probably buy the 55-200 so I don't have to buy more filters.
