Hi,

I got this nikon 18-55 with D50 and is looking for some *PUNCH* with decent money. I came across this tamron 28-75 F/2.8 which has some good review. Do you think its worth dumping 18-55 for this tamron lens OR is there better lens to replace this 18-55.... I rarely shoot at 18mm, in case u need to know.

Do you have a lens wider than the 18mm that the kit lens give you? What do you use indoors or on group photos?

Why don't you just keep the 18-55 as a backup in case you ever have a problem with a new Tamron. I'm more into landscape shooting, so I'll probably keep the kit lens, since I don't have anything wider that it. So I would suggest you keep it, nless you have a lens that starts at 10 or 12mm already.

my long term plan is to keep 3 lens to cover following range

1) 10-30 mm
2) 20-80 mm
3) 70 - 200

and a 2x Teleconverter
