Zygh-

Cord is back on E-Bay with more of the Tamron 28-300mm XR lenses again at $149. The lens (the Tamron 28-300mm XR Di lens) I had purchased on E-bay arrived today and I am attaching a photo.

zygh-

Here are two sample photos taken with my D-50 and the Tamron 28-300mm XR Di lens. These were taken inside because it has beenraining all day.

The First photo is at 28mm. The exposure is 1/80th at F 4.5 and the image has been cropped 100%. TheFourth photo is at 300mm. The exposure is 1/25 at F 6.3 and the image was cropped 100%.

After reading the posts above I decided to call Cord. They allowed me to order the lens over the phone for my D50. It was $159.99. They said they will be posting more Nikon mounted Tamron lenses the end of the week if you dont want to call. These arent the DI version but I was told it wont matter on the D50. And there about $200 less.

Mike-

You are entirely correct. Cord is offering the Tamron 28-300mm XR lens rather than the Tamron 28-300mm XR Di lens. The only difference is an additional lens coating to reduce flare. The saving is substantial. My tests thus far with the Tamron XR version have been very impressive. In fact, impressive enough, that I purchased a lens for my D-50 as well as my KM 5D. Here is a sample photo from the XR version.\
