Hey friends,

I'm just about to hit the 'buy' button for these two pieces of equipment, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

Tokina:

Tiffen:

I've used a polarizing filter on a wide-angle conversion lens before, and the result was horrible. You could actually see the rim of the polorizer in the frame. So I'm looking to avoid any sort of conflicts like that again.

Mainly, I'm wondering if anyone here has this Tokina lens, and if so, have you been using any filters with it? Do you notice any serious vignetting? Any compatibility problems?

I'm excited to get this lens, so thanks for any help and advice!

This Tokina lens is one of the reasons I bought a dSLR. I do mostly landscape and I'm glad there is a "budget" alternative. You'll love that lens, and I'm sure I'll love it too if I can afford it. I'm hoping to get it by Christmas.

But don't get too excited yet, B&H is close for Passover. Check their schedule, I think it says they are not taking orders and will not ship until the 21st. Also, the link you included is for a Canon lens mount, not Nikon. It seems like B&H is out of stock of Nikons. Make sure you are buying the right one.

Thanks, Rey... I later realized it was the Canon mount. I wasn't paying attention and just did a quick copy/paste of the link. It certainly wasn't the actual lens I was buying. In fact, I wasn't even planning on ordering from B&H.

But now I can't find this lens anywhere. I love landscape photography, and I'm a wide-angle junkie. As I'm sure you are. But can you really wait until Christmas??

The search continues....

Why don't you try the dealer look-up tool @ Tokina's website. Maybe you'll get lucky.
