Would like the lighter weight of the Nikkor but the added reach of the Sigma. All things considered what would your choice be-and why? :-)

Thanks

I tried both and I prefer the Nikkor 55-200mm lens. But that is just a personal opinion.

The Nikkor 55-200mm lens is pleasingly small, which is a big plus for me, and had better than expected image quality.

The Nikon is a nice lens, it is also light so makes a great walkabout lens

the Sigma APO has the extra reach, which is good for wildlife,I also like its images and the fact that there is a (limited macro feature at the 200-300mm end of the lens.

The sigma is noticably bigger and heavier

If you need to make a choice, make it on whether you need the extra reach, if not then the Nikon would be the more practical lens over the long term
