I don't know specifically about the Nikon Demos that Cameta is selling, but I have bought a couple of Olympus Demo/Refurb cameras, as well as a few demo/refurb lenses from Cameta. Every one of the items was absolutely indistinguishable from brand new, except for the fact that the box said Refurbished on it, and the manufacturer's warranty was shorter (in the case of Olympus, 90 days), But Cameta provides their own warranty extension to 1 year at no charge, and in the case of these Olympus deals, they offer quite inexpensive extended warranties to 3 years.

I am very pleased with every Demo/Refurb item that I have gotten from Cameta, and, as I said, the Olympus items that they are selling this way are completely indistinguishable from brand new, and they are great deals. You if you have any queasiness at all about these items, ask what type of extended warranty that they are offerring, and if it's inexpensive, take it.

IMHO, Cameta is a very reliable dealer - I have dealt with them since long before ebay was ever invented, and never had a problem - that includes used gear, new gear, and these refurb/demo items. All have been excellent deals.
