I have just purchased a nikon 80 200 2.8 lens and will be using it on my D50. When I attached it to my camera and set the lens in auto and 2.8 the lens will not work. seems like the only function it will work in on the aperture ring is f/22. should I be doing something else or am I needing to set something else on the camera to make it work in all apertures.
Thanks for any info
Darrell

Sounds like your trying to set these using the rings on the lens for F/stop if you are that is not what you do.
Set the Aperture to f/22 and use the small lock sliderto keep it their.
All setting for are done using the camera body. That would be done using the dial on top left side to (A) and turn the dial on right to the f/stop you want.

Everything is done thru the body.

Thanks jtgraphics I give that a try. Being a novice with SLR cameras I need to ask a few dumb questions to get my knowledge. Thanks again for the info.
