I am looking at buying a fish-eye lens but don't really want to buy a DX format lens. The 16mm f2.8 has a field of 180 degrees on a full frame camera, how do you calculate for a D200 with a 1.5 dx sensor?

The DX format lens is 10mm for a 180 degree field of view.

I am ok with something less than 180 degrees but I want to know what the field will be before laying out the cash.

Thanks,

Bill

Curmudgeon,

I don't have a quick answer, and it's been too many years since my college trig classes, but this article might help... I found it interesting, in a geeky sort of way:-)

Hope it helps...http://bobatkins.com/photography/tec...d_of_view.html
