Default Early user of 5700 .. first problems

So far I have noted 3 shortcomings:

1. There is pincushion at the wide angle setting! Does anyone know of a way to correct pin cushion in Pshop?

2. The manual focus is cumbersome. I assume the Coolpix 5800 will have an on-the lens focus ring a la Olympus.

3. The autofocus is very slow.

Hi there. I just bought a Nikon 5700 and agree with you on nr. 2 and 3. But I also have a question: What is pincushion? Sorry for asking, but I'm new to digital photography...

Pin cushion is a curvature of the image so that straight lines at the edges are curved rather than striaght. This is expected in a fisheye but should not be present in a 35 mm equiv foacl length as the Cpix has at full wide.

Default 5700 wide angle pincusioning

Steves...(or anyone with a 5700)
does this pincusioning involve just the 8x zoom at it's lowest setting of 35m or the 28mm wide angle lens attachment?

if just the 35mm setting, does this problem disappear when you put the 28mm wide angle lens attachment on or does it get worse?

pls reply soon so I can make an informed decision as to whether or not to get the 28 mm wide angle lens attachment.
thnx.... :?: :?: :?:
