Default Hot or stuck pixel question

My 990 has developed a hot or stuck pixel that can be seen even in
daytime shots. It's bright pink. I've tested my 990 by following a
web site's instructions and found I have a total of 5 pixels that
show up, 1 bad, 2 inbetween, the others I can live with. Has anyone
sent their camera in to Nikon for this (post warranty)? My camera is
3 yrs old, what will they charge me to fix it? Thanks.

The repair charge for out of warranty is often a flat fee of like $300. I take care of those wild pixels with Photoshop and the clone tool. Unless you have large numbers of pixel groups that are bad or stuck - I wouldn't worry about it. Most new cameras have a couple of bad pixels.
