Default CP 5700 Lens Hood- Worth it?

Otay, I was thinking about buying a lens hood for my 5700. Has anyone had any experiences with Nikon's version and is there an alternative? Is it worth the US$25 price tag?

To me, every lenshood worth every penny you paid for. The original lenshood brand is the best because it was designed to the exact lens specifications. So, buy the Nikon lens hood if you own the Nikon camera, do not settle with the off brand lens hood.

I have Nikon 5700 digital camera. I use the camera hood. It protects the lens, and also prevents the unwanted flare. Previousely I used the metal tube adapter ( by Bernie Heins co.) and a 72 mm filter, but unfortunately this fillter created a bad flare when I go out to local lakes and beach to photograph birds. So the hood is much better.
