Default Nikon Service is very, very POOR

Has anyone had problems dealing with Nikon? I recently mailed a CP5700, under U.S. Warranty, to them and they told me it would be 2 months before repairing the camera. This is totally wrong and I will not recommend a Nikon to anyone anymore...

It almost sounds like they want to delay the repair, so that if it breaks after the fix it will be out of warranty. Two months is horrible.

two months? that's not right... which facility did you send it to? I've always dealt with the Melville, NY facility and never had any problems whatsoever. the last time I went there, there was a man with a broken slide scanner which Nikon could not fix, and right there they gave him a brand new one.

Seems to me, Nikon should either give you a loaner or an exchange for a new one. I hope they read this forum. I'm forming a bad opinion of Nikon service after reading numerous threads.
