Default 5400 Infrared capable?

Anyone tried to shoot Infrared with the 5400?
Poking around the web I found that the 5700 is capable,
but the 5400 has a different CCD.

Want to make sure before I go out and spend a large pile of pennies on a IR-black filter.

I tried the black slide film IR test and the 5400 produced what looks like a workable image.

This image was shot through 2 pieces of completely black slide film,
then desaturated in photoshop. white balance was set to daylight.

Now for the big test, I'll have to order a 49mm b&w 093 filter (about 150$ cdn  ) and see if it can still produce an image.
Expensive way to find out :?

OK, so I am trying to findout the capabilities of the 5400 .

Tried a ultraviolet shot.
This one did not go so well, it is a little crystal ball, only light source is a ultraviolet tube. Whitebalance set to daylight.

Will have to try this one again with a better subject.
