Default Battery Contacts on the CP5700

Hi All,

Wonder if anyone has noticed this. I just got my new CP5700 and while inserting my battery noticed that the battery contacts inside the battery well are not the normal metallic color. They seemed rusty in color. they don't seem to be actually rusted.

Has anyone else noticed this on their cameras ?. Thanks

My 5700 shows the same 'rust' look on battery contacts inside the battery well. I have had my 5700 for 10 months now, I'm sure its not an issue.

is the rust look smooth and metallic or rough and pitted?

they can put conductive coatings in just about any color the wish.

sjms,

It looks as you said like a rusty color 'conductive coating' on the battery contacts.

aren't modern metal techniques wonderful. as long as there is no powder on the surface or pitting they are just a different color. thats all.

Yes Friends...

I did look more closely, using my son's Scooby Magnifying Glasses and the contacts are made of copper, no rust there.

Sorry, to have wasted everyone's time, but hey nice to know I can turn to you guys for help. Most of you are obviously pros at photography !!!!!!!
